People's Action is a national network of state and local grassroots organizations that builds the power of poor and working people through community organizing, issue campaigns, and electoral work. Founded in 2016 from the merger of nine organizing networks, it comprises roughly 40 member groups across 29 states and claims over a million members. The organization runs coordinated campaigns and projects on issues including health care, housing justice, climate and energy policy, and leveraging federal funds, and it engages in movement politics (e.g., candidate slates, pledges, and a people’s platform). Its methods include relational, power-building community organizing, training and leadership development (the “Organizing Revival”), nonviolent direct actions and protests, lobbying/advocacy, producing reports and press releases, and mobilizing members for issue fights and elections. People's Action also operates affiliated initiatives and publishes materials (e.g., OurFuture.org) to support its organizing, communications, and policy work.
