Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) is a physician-led organization that advocates for a single-payer national health program (described as “improved Medicare for All”) in the United States. The group develops and publishes policy proposals and research (reports on Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, pharmaceutical reform, moral injury among clinicians, etc.), tracks legislative developments, and provides materials to inform policymakers, the press, members and the public about single-payer proposals and related health system issues.
PNHP also organizes and supports local and student chapters, runs member and public education activities (webinars, slideshows, handouts, annual meetings, speakers bureau), coordinates advocacy campaigns (legislator outreach, lobby visits, letters to the editor, recruit colleagues), and produces reports and briefings intended to influence health policy and public debate.
