Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) is a U.S.-based professional advocacy organization of physicians and health professionals that promotes a single-payer national health program (often described as "improved Medicare for All"). The organization develops and publishes policy proposals and reports, conducts research and surveys (for example on clinician "moral injury" and the effects of financialization of health care), and produces educational materials and briefings for members, legislators, and the public.
PNHP organizes local and student chapters, hosts events and an annual meeting, maintains member resources (webinars, slideshows, speakers bureau, handouts), and runs advocacy campaigns to support legislation and state- and federal-level actions (including outreach, lobby visits, letters-to-the-editor, and campaigns to remove private managed-care contracts). It also issues reports on topics such as Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, pharmaceutical policy, and health justice to inform policy debates and mobilize clinicians and supporters.
