Veterans For Peace is a U.S.-based organization of military veterans and supporters that advocates against war, militarism, and U.S. foreign interventions. The group issues public statements and press releases condemning specific military actions and policies, calls for cessation of weapons shipments and occupations, and publishes positions on international conflicts. The organization supports and organizes grassroots activism through local chapters: staging protests and demonstrations, coordinating solidarity actions with affected communities and countries, and conducting local campaigns such as demonstrations at VA facilities to defend veterans’ healthcare. They also offer support and public backing for service members who refuse orders they deem illegal or unconstitutional, and oppose the use of militarized federal policing tactics against civilians.
